lot at the end of the days.” Daniel 12:13.

This miracle was one of the results of their

godly lives.

With bitter remorse and feelings of humility,

the king approached the furnace, and

exclaimed, “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-

nego, ye servants of the most high God, come

forth, and come hither.” They did so, and all

the hosts of the plain of Dura were witnesses

to the fact that not even the smell of fire was

upon their garments, and not a hair of their

heads had been singed. God had triumphed

through the constancy of his faithful servants.

The magnificent image was forgotten by the

people in their wonder, and solemnity

pervaded the assembly.
