7. The town or city that neglected the
religious instruction of their youth were
considered as under the curse of God.
8. Education under the Jewish teachers:
i. The teaching had become formal.
ii. Tradition had in a great degree
supplanted the Scriptures.
iii. More attention was given to
matters of ceremony.
9. The results of their teachings are the
following:
i. The minds of the youth were
crowded with material that was
worthless to the learners, and that
would not be recognized in the
higher school of the courts above.
ii. The students found no quiet hours
to spend with God.
iii. They did not hear the voice of God
speaking to their hearts.
