                                          Chapter 11 – A Literal Prophecy
                   that  is  the  only  one,  with  the  possible


               exception of Revelation 2:10, connected with


               a “time appointed,” or a prophetic period.




               VERSE 36. And the king shall do according to


               his  will;  and  he  shall  exalt  himself,  and


               magnify  himself  above  every  god,  and  shall


               speak  marvelous  things  against  the  God  of


               gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be


               accomplished;  for  that  that  is  determined


               shall be done.



               The king here introduced cannot denote the


               same power which was last noticed, namely,


               the papal power; for the specifications will not


               hold good if applied to that power.




               Take  a  declaration  in  the  next  verse:  “Nor


               regard any god.” This has never been true of


               the  papacy.  God  and  Christ,  though  often


               placed  in  a  false  position,  have  never  been
