The type was a beautiful service, but the
antitype is far more beautiful. Christ our High
Priest officiated in the first apartment from
His ascension into heaven until the end of the
two thousand three hundred days of Daniel
8:14, when the heavenly sanctuary was to be
cleansed. This period ended in the autumn of
1844; at which time Christ entered the most
holy place of the heavenly sanctuary. In the
type all trace of sin was removed upon the
tenth day of the seventh month. This day was
called the day of atonement, or at-one-ment,
