be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign

with Him a thousand years.”

“And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them,

and judgment was given unto them.” During

the thousand years, the saints live in the New

Jerusalem, the city of God; and as priests of

God and of Christ, they sit in judgment on the

cases of the wicked. “Do ye not know,” wrote

Paul to the Corinthians, “that the saints shall

judge the world? ...Know ye not that we shall

judge angels?” Peter had this judicial work in

mind when he wrote that “God spared not the

angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell,

and delivered them into chains of darkness, to

be reserved unto judgment.”
