Chapter 8 – The Seven Trumpets
chapter and all of chapter 9. The seven

angels prepare themselves to sound. Their

sounding comes in as a complement to the

prophecy of Daniel 2 and 7, commencing with

the breaking up of the old Roman empire into

its ten divisions, of which, in the first four

trumpets, we have a description.

VERSE 7. The first angel sounded, and there

followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and

they were cast upon the earth: and the third

part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass

was burnt up.
