The birth of Christ, the crucifixion, and the

work in heaven since the ascension,-all point

to the kingdom restored. The history of the

beast, and of the image to the beast, both

record the persecution of a people who will be

loyal subjects of the King of earth. If the one

hundred and forty-four thousand are studied,

they are found to be the Remnant, snatched

from the very pit of destruction, to reign in the

earth as kings and priests, throughout

eternity. The plagues are but the sign of the

self-destruction of all forces opposed to the

law of God; and they pave the way for the

cleansing of the earth by fire, preparatory to

the restoration of the paradise of God.
