leopard, the bear, and the lion. The successor

of Greece was Rome, and profiting by past

failures, the devil combined the strength of all

preceding kingdoms in this fourth. A false

religion, a tyrannical government, upheld and

propagated by a flattering, insinuating, false

system of education,-this was the body of the

beast.
