P. 3
Inspired by my passion for Italy, this portfolio reflects my belief in the need for focus and specialisation. I have expanded my love of the north to include the Alto Adige and their beautifully fine and aromatic wines. I have delved into the less represented region of Valtellina to expand on my love of Nebbiolo, expressed in such a distinctive, refined way. Excitingly, I have also explored Tuscany including Chianti, Montalcino and Montepulciano to immerse myself in what I see, next to Piedmont, as one of the most diverse of the Italian regions, where I have found wines of immense power, regional expression and finesse. Finally, Sicily, an area I have been fascinated about for many years and again, so diverse, ranging from distinctly structural and mineral Etna to the fruit driven generous wines of the west. On the domestic front, the theme continues with smaller parcels from cool climate producers that display their regional and varietal characters.
As many of the producers in this portfolio embrace sustainable farming practices, including organic and bio-dynamic farming methods (some are certified), I have been respectful of this and all of the European wines are only imported in refrigerated containers. All wines are received into Melbourne and stored in a climate controlled warehouse – specializing in the handling of fine wines. In my view, both these points are critical as I want the wines to express themselves in the truest sense possible with minimal intervention and arriving to you in their best possible condition.
Benvenuti to Primavera Selections! Cheers, Pete
