are women today and there is no reason why they should not reach the most senior positions in management.
Which reminds me; soon after my appointment as President of ICA in 1987 I was privileged to speak at the inaugural meeting of Women in Insurance held in Sydney. The photograph below was taken at the conclusion of the meeting with the then President. Subsequently Women in Insurance has become a very important body in the industry going from strength to strength.

There is still much to be done, but in the meantime, Tricia Kelly, is today on a number of Boards and has recently been appointed Chairman of an insurance company Board.
• The second point dealt with my other favourite subject which is the establishment of a last resort compensation scheme. Again, I related to the many consumers who have been left uncompensated
