PHRASE SEARCHING
Phrase searching narrows your search results by allowing you to define
precisely how you want the words to appear. To make sure that the
database searches this correctly you can put quotation marks around
your search term and force the database to search this as a phrase
Phrase searching allows users to search for articles containing
a phrase rather than containing a set of keywords in random order. For
most databases the phrase needs to placed in double quotation marks;
e.g. "skin cancer". This is particularly useful if the words on their own are
common.
Search Operators are commands that help you filter and
refine search engine results. For example, using the search operator site:
allows you to only see results from one website in search engine results.
Most search engines support the same search operators, but they also
have their own unique operators.
