Understanding postmethod pedagogy 43 • design and use appropriate microstrategies to maximize learning
potential in the classroom; and
• monitor and evaluate their ability to react to myriad situations in meaningful ways.
In short, the framework seeks to provide a possible mechanism for classroom teachers to begin to theorize from their practice and prac- tice what they theorize.
In the next ten chapters, I discuss the macrostrategic frame- work in greater detail, providing theoretical, empirical, and expe- riential support for each of the ten macrostrategies. I also provide illustrative microstrategies and exploratory projects to show how a particular macrostrategy can be implemented in a classroom situ- ation. In the final chapter, I demonstrate how the macrostrategic framework can be used by teachers to self-observe, self-analyze, and self-evaluate their own teaching acts.
