Well 2020 just blew in and wasn’t waiting for
anyone or anything? From scorching temperatures
and bush fires to torrential rain, we have already
experienced quite a start to the New Year. Having
had a chance to speak with most of you, it seems
that you all enjoyed the Festive Season and
thought it went by far too quickly.
Once again summer has provided us all with many
exciting activities and events. Our annual pool
party in December was a hit for the second year
and saw an increase in the number of residents
participating in using our hydrotherapy pool to
benefit their wellbeing. Our in‐house resident
Christmas lunch was very festive and we were
blessed to have a high attendance of family
members. Special thanks to Selwyn one of our
residents' favourite entertainers for his wonderful
performance on the day as well as a shout out to
the children of our staff members who
volunteered to help set up and clean up. Christmas
Day was a hit with over 9 families organising
private functions in our lounge areas throughout
the residence and all functions running smoothly.
A round of applause to our kitchen staff who
managed to cater for over 118 people on our
resident Christmas party day and Christmas Day
itself.
Our New Year celebration included a buffet style
drinks and nibbles set up in the piano lounge.
Australia Day celebrations in January saw us
celebrating a typical Aussie barbeque. February
rang in with a bang with us celebrating Chinese
New Year (Year of the Rat) with delicious Chinese
cuisine. Ruth, Jenny & Yeshe, our Leisure &
Lifestyle team have created an event filled
calendar with bus outings to the Lyric Theatre to
see War Horse, High Teas at the Sir Stamford Hotel
amongst other things. Our residents are thrilled
that Sally Rule is back on deck each Wednesday
with her choir and music history. 2020 is shaping
up to be an exciting new year for us.

Housekeeping
Signing In and Out ‐ As a reminder, we have sign in and
sign out registers at our Basement Lobby entrance and
our Reception entrance on level one for our residents,
family and friends to sign themselves in and out when
they enter and exit the residence for two primary
reasons, in the event of an emergency we know who is
present in the residence and so that residents' movement
are known.
Laundry ‐ We have a number of unclaimed clothing items,
please note that we use industrial washing machines at
Bayswater Gardens and placing labels on clothing that
have been purchased at Supermarkets or online
companies that you require you to use your iron to fasten
the label onto the item of clothing will not last in our
washing machines. If your loved one has items of clothing
that are not labelled could you please place the items in
plastic bags found at Reception on Level 1 or to the admin
desk on the Ground Level in the laundry hampers and
ensure you use the stickers provided to label the bag of
clothing.
Dry Cleaning ‐ If your loved one has any dry cleaning
requirements please see our lovely Client Service Co‐
ordinators Jessica at Reception on Level One and Suzy on
the Ground Floor. We have a 48‐72 hour turnaround on
items sent in for dry cleaning.
Cleaning ‐ Our cleaning contractors have been working
hard to ensure the high standards of Bayswater Gardens
is maintained and with the new supervisor Maria at the
helm a big change is being noticed around the residence,
with continued training being rolled out each month. We
trust that you will see a notable difference.
