Meet Katia Stevis

My name is Katia Stevis, I started working at Bayswater
as a trainee personal care assistant, through school via a
School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship program in
March 2018. I started this traineeship whilst doing year
11 at Southern Cross Catholic Vocational College. I
attended school 4 days a week and worked every Friday.
For the Diary
At school I studied Human Services (Assistant in
Nursing), Retail Services, Beauty Services, English and
Catholic studies. My favourite subject was Human Date Event
Services as it helped me to get my job here at Bayswater
Gardens. I finally graduated High School in September 1 March Grand Kids Day
2019. Before starting at Bayswater Gardens I had only 4 March Fishing on the Bay
had experience working at Domino’s Pizza. Bayswater Teddy Bears Picnic Fundraiser
Gardens was a completely new experience for me, I still for Bandaged Bear Day
remember my first shift. I was nervous of what to expect 11 March
but that feeling immediately disappeared as I was 16 March Church Service
welcomed by all the staff and residents and loved how 1 April Aprils Fools Day BBQ & Fun
much of a community it was. Everybody was willing to 8 April Kindi Farm Animals Visit
help and was so patient with me. I have gained amazing 9 April Easter Egg Hunt & Easter
skills, independence and maturity from working here.
These employability skills will stick with me for life and I 10 April Good Friday
will always remember the helpful team of people who 12 April Easter Sunday
assisted me along the way at the start of my career 22 April 9 to 5 Musical
journey. 25 April ANZAC Day
8 May Mother's Day High Tea
I want to further my studies and one day become a
Registered Nurse and maybe be a Midwife. In my spare 17 May Wine & Cheese Day
time I enjoy spending time with family and friends and 27 May Italian Cultural Lunch
shopping. I hope in the future that I get to travel around
the world and experience lots of different cultures and
countries. See you around Bayswater Gardens.
