Summer 2018
BELLA VISTA NEWS
Welcome
By Janice McNair
Hi everyone,
Summer is well and truly upon us and with this comes the need to
keep ourselves hydrated. Many people, in particular the elderly, feel Pets On The Lawn Event
the effects of the higher temperatures as they do not adjust as well
to temperature changes. This may be due to medications, chronic
diseases and the ageing process. The main problem that the heat
brings is dehydration which affects our blood pressure and the
increases the risk of bladder infections. Like our gardens, we need to
keep ourselves hydrated to counteract the effects of the heat. So,
keep cool and drink plenty of water.
We recently had an un-announced visit from the Accreditation
Agency. They reviewed the following standards – Human Resources Firefighter Visit
and Care. The four assessors were very pleased with the care and
staffing and recommended that we met both standards.
Reflections Wellness Team also welcomed a new hairdresser and
beautician, and we are delighted to have them join us.
Christmas is fast-approaching and there will be decorations and
festivities abound. I would like to take the opportunity to wish
everyone a safe and healthy festive season. A huge thank you to the
residents and families for your support. I would especially like to
thank all the staff for their hard work and support since my "Bugging Us Show"
commencement. You are a great team and look forward to
continuing to work with you. Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas,
