Spring 2017
BELLA VISTA NEWS
a
Welcome
By Deb Cormack
I have a real appreciation for spring: the sweet smell in the air, the
sounds of the birds and the hint of warm summer to come.
My beautiful 60 foot oak tree is full of buds ready to blossom, it is a Pets on the Lawn
magical time of rebirth and new beginnings. Let’s all enhance the
“new” that is in store for us, for me a new health kick time to get
fitter and release some weight!
Thank you for all your feedback and participation in our accreditation
process. We have achieved the full 44 outcomes and have been
accredited for 3 years. As legislated, we will still have at least one
unannounced visit a year from the Quality Accreditation Agency.
Several key personnel attended the Quality Agency’s Better Practise
Conference in August and learnt lots, including innovations currently

going on in the industry and think tanks about where the industry is
heading. The key take home message is that as an industry we need
to be looking at innovative ways to involve our residents and
relatives much more actively in everything that we do.
We survived the flu season reasonably well, with only a handful of
residents being sick with Influenza. Just a reminder, both flu and
gastro are rife in the community at present so please do not visit if
you or your family members are sick. Please follow the guidelines of
the senior staff and the Public Health unit. National Orchid Extravaganza exhibition at Dural
Lots of great events and activities ahead for us at Bella Vista Gardens,
we look forward to meeting you there.
With warm wishes
