Introducing our Clinical Educator &
Infection Prevention Coordinator
I’m really excited about my new role as the Clinical
Educator and Infection Prevention Coordinator. I’m
passionate about education as I believe that it empowers
staff and is the key to continually improving the care and
service that we provide to our residents. I will spend time
listening to staff so that I can provide them with learning
opportunities that they will find relevant and stimulating. Chantel Kitching
I think that the two aspects of my role, clinical education
and infection prevention, complement each other well, as
an important way of preventing infections is by providing
regular up-to-date training. Of course, with the ongoing
risk of COVID-19, it has never been more important to
ensure that we are adhering to the highest standard of
infection control protocols. It’s important to remember
that infection control involves everyone all the time.
Whether you are a staff member, resident, family or a
visitor, you have a part to play in preventing the spread of
infections. Simple things like handwashing, keeping safe
distance, staying home when you’re sick and knowing
how to correctly put on and take off masks, gloves, gowns
etc. can make a huge difference to the wellbeing of our
residents, maybe even save their lives.
So far, in my short time at Cranbrook Care, I’ve been
hugely impressed by the infection control procedures
that are in place and by the diligence and awareness that
staff show as they go about their duties. I see my role as
supporting the staff in the excellent job they are already
doing and to provide them with the resources to
continue giving our residents the very best care.

Congratulations Romel on being our
Standing Ovation award winner for
February 2021. To thank Romel for his
hard work, he has been given a $150

work and commitment to William Cape
Gardens. Your kind and caring nature is
recognised by staff and residents.
Congratulations Chantel as the recipient
of our Standing Ovation award for March
2021. To thank Chantel for her hard work,
she has been given a $150 bonus. Thank
you for your dedication and caring nature
with our residents in Elm. It is well
recognised and appreciated. You are a
valued member of the team.
Lorraine Sheather
Congratulations Lorraine as the recipient
of our Standing Ovation award for April
2021. Thank you for your hard work and
determination whilst covering leave in
Reception. You soldiered on during the
difficult periods and were determined to
solve any issues. We appreciate that you
put your best foot forward to get the job
done.
