Summer 2018
WILLIAM CAPE NEWS
Welcome
By Melinda Boyd
Welcome to our Summer Newsletter. It is hard to believe we are at Residents at the Hunter Valley Zoo Trip
the end of another year! It’s time to reflect on the year that has been
and to set goals and priorities for the new year. A lot is happening in
the aged care industry with lots of stories currently in the media.
Please always remember, we at William Cape Gardens appreciate your
feedback about the care we provide to our special residents. The “My
Thoughts” form is a quick and easy way to let us know your thoughts.
We also hold Resident & Relative meetings, every two months, and
are currently holding a “Food Focus Meeting”, fortnightly. We invite
everyone to attend these meetings.

In preparation for our festive activities, could you please let us know if
you are planning to take your loved one out on Christmas Day or over
the holiday period. Please also let us know if you would like to join
your loved one for Christmas day lunch here at William Cape Gardens.
Advanced notice allows us to plan staffing and catering requirements
for the day. On 4 October, we had an unannounced visit by the Quality
Agency, this is when representatives from the Australian Government
visit our residence without notice to ensure we are providing care that
is safe and as per the Aged Care Act (1997). I am very happy to
announce that they found us compliant in the three outcomes they
were assessing. William Cape Staff Celebrate Halloween!
Just a friendly reminder that we have spotted snakes in the local area,
so if walking outside of the residence, please be mindful of the local
animals. I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our residents,
families, staff and friends a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy
and safe new year. I look forward to an exciting 2019.
With warm wishes
