Meet our dominoes and square-dancing extraordinaire, Ron Rawlings.
15 Jan Bernard G. Although Ron is a relatively new resident to William Cape Gardens, he is
still quite familiar with the residence. His wife of 25 years, Ivy, also
17 Jan Thomas F. resides here. In his past, Ron used to travel around to various different
residences, including William Cape Gardens, teaching residents how to

play dominoes. In Ron’s earlier years, he was an expert square-dancer.
24 Jan Robert W. Before he undertook square-dancing, he had formerly participated in
barn-dancing, but later discovered his talents and true passion lied in
square-dancing! Ron has travelled to many countries including The
February United States, Canada, England and Germany – just to name a few, for
the National Square-Dancing World Tour Convention. Ron originally
4 Feb Judith C.
began square-dancing at the tender age of 16 years and has now been
5 Feb Norbert D. doing it for 60 years!
6 Feb Yvonne L. Throughout his many years of square-dancing he has taught many
young people how to dance. These days, Ron is still a very busy man,
11 Feb Helen D.
but he doesn’t engage in square-dancing anymore. Ron loves to tell
stories and tales from all the years he was square-dancing, and he also
20 Feb Marie B.
enjoys playing dominoes and other board games with others. If you see
24 Feb Brian B. him around be sure to ask him to show you some of his many moves!
