Summer 2019

                                                               WILLIAM CAPE NEWS

                               Welcome

                               By Cathy Blomquist

My how time flies, it’s hard to believe that Christmas is almost here. Daphne painting at Gorokan Preschool
Though it is a busy time of the year it is definitely a special time for
families to catch up and friends to share kindness and goodwill in the
         spirit of the season.

We have been excited to see the changes as each refurbishment area
is revealed at the end of every week. It has been so wonderful to see
the looks of surprise and smiles as well as to receive many positive
comments about the new fresh look. We know it has been a difficult
time for our residents and staff with disruptions to usual routines and
other inconveniences, however, I’m sure you would agree that the Rock n Roll Dancing
end result is worth it. We truly appreciate the patience and
understanding shown by our residents, families and staff throughout
the refurbishment. Whilst all bedroom refurbishments are nearing
completion, there are still some major parts of work yet to be
completed in a few communal areas though it looks that we are
continuing to run close to schedule with an end of year finish. I’m sure
that anyone who has visited recently will have noticed the beautiful
new Café and foyer area. We are in the process of finalising the
operational practicalities and staffing for the Café and look forward to
making some announcements in the coming weeks. Pets Day Out

Each month we recognise one person from the team of wonderful
staff who live the Cranbrook Care values with our “Standing Ovation
Awards”. The award winners since our last newsletter are, August:
Sarah Browne (Housekeeping) September: Stacie Quinell (Personal
Care Assistant) October: Leizel Steltenpool (Food Services).

Just a reminder, I am always happy to meet with you to discuss any
concerns you may have. Please feel free to “pop” into my office, chat
as you see me on my daily rounds throughout the residence or contact
me via Reception or email anytime. Look forward to seeing you all at
the Christmas celebration on 10 December.
                                                                            Halloween
