The world-famous artist Olafur Eliasson works with installation, video, and photography. Many of his works circle the meeting between architecture and nature, where spatial interventions and imitations
of nature phenomena are investigated and interpreted. His installations are often immersive – they encapsulate the viewer and activate the senses. Olafur Eliasson’s photos most often picture nature. The artist has a Danish-Icelandic origin, and the unique Icelandic nature seems to be a lead motif in his comprehensive photographic practice, where mountains, glaciers, and volcanos are rendered almost documentational. Olafur Eliasson’s works can relate to a climate awareness that places nature into
focus and unfolds new possible approaches to the environment and its potentials. His engagement in the climate question is not only of aesthetic character. He has a social business called Little Sun that aims to increase awareness about renewable energy.
