INTRODUCTION

How can we better achieve the comprehensive learn-
ing goal that every textbook contains for the subject of
music than by actively making music, during the music
lesson and at home?
In the Yamaha Strings Class every student learns to play
his instrument from the basics. Every week the students
play together in an orchestra and get to know the world
of music. During the learning process the pupils deve-
lop into real musicians who participate in cultural life.
Music is an essential part of the lives of young people.
What could be better than offering them the opportunity
to make music?
The Yamaha Strings Class is based on the Class Band.
Following the same principle: learn and play together.
We have many years of experience with Class Bands
all over Europe. Strings Class is new. After some pilot
projects in Italy and the Netherlands we are ready to roll
out the Strings Class over Europe.
