They continuously clean and filter the blood up to 300 times a day, where:
•A large artery brings blood to each kidney.

•Tiny blood vessels branch off and pass through each nephron which
is a microscopic filter that filters the blood and removes harmful
2 substances from the body
• Removing urea which is formed due to the breakdown of
3 proteins inside the body cells.
• After the filtering is completed urea, other waste materials
4 and water become urine
• Urine leaves each kidney through a narrow tube called
ureter and collects in the bladder
5 • Urine is removed from the bladder through Urethra
Notes
1. Blood cells and proteins are too large to pass through the filter (nephron),
so they stay in the body.
