INSTRUCTOR SPOTLIGHT

Jennifer Brown

Jennifer Brown is the owner and lead investigator at J. Brown Legal Investigations, LLC.
She has conducted hundreds of investigations for attorneys throughout the United
States. Jennifer specializes in criminal defense and has worked on behalf of clients
facing everything from simple misdemeanors to the death penalty. She is an
experienced investigator who also provides consulting services to attorneys and other
investigators.

Jennifer earned her B.A. from Colorado State University and a J.D. from the University
of South Dakota School of Law. She began her career as a staffer for a high-profile
United States Senator in Washington, D.C., before working at a prominent trade
association. She returned to Colorado and began her investigative career working for
Ellis Armistead, who trained her in the art and science of legal investigations. She went
on to form her own investigative business, which she has operated for 14 years.

Jennifer is a Certified Legal Investigator who has published many articles of interest to
investigators in several industry periodicals. She is a frequent presenter and instructor
in many areas of investigations and has spoken to groups around the country. She is a
member of the National Association of Legal Investigators, the Professional Private
Investigators Association of Colorado, where she is currently the Chair, the Colorado
Criminal Defense Bar, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
