Qualities of a good surveillance
investigator

u Patience

u Persistence

u Attention to detail

u Ability to multi-task

u Must be extremely comfortable behind the wheel of a vehicle and not get
easily spooked or nervous

Ability to react quickly

u Surveillance is a series of events unknown to the investigator

u Need to be able to react if subject:
u Stops and goes inside a building
u Parks and boards another vehicle, bus, train etc
u Departs on a bicycle, taking bike only trails
u Parks and begins travelling significant distances on foot
u Goes into a secured area
