Art For Recovery – Children’s Hospitals
One of the first scientific studies of art
preferences of school children and
hospitalised paediatric patients found that,
across all age groups that were studied (5-17
years) and genders, a great majority of
children preferred nature art over abstract or
cartoon-like images.
These findings refute assumptions on children’s art
preferences, which lead to abstract or cartoon-
like images being recommended for health care
spaces.
