ASSESS
The Scholastic Literacy Pro path starts by measuring
reading comprehension with the LitPro Test, a fast and
accurate tool to evaluate reading levels.
Fast, Easy, Accurate!
Teachers love that the LitPro Test is fast, easy to-implement, and accurate. The
test should be administered 3-5 times a year, every year.
To develop reading skills, students need practice. To optimise reading
development, students in Literacy Pro are encouraged to frequently read texts
within their Lexile range or their ‘zone of proximal development’. This should
challenge but not frustrate readers and develop their reading skills.
Students read short passages and
answer multiple choice questions
Passages feature authentic text.
A mix of fiction and non-fiction.
No prior knowledge of subject matter needed
