Dr. Nader Tavakoli is a physician, educator, and academic leader whose career
spans more than 30 years of dedicated service to patient care and medical
education. His clinical interests include adult medicine, geriatrics, and
palliative care, areas in which he brings a thoughtful, patient-centered
approach to both practice and teaching.

A proud alumnus of RUSM, Dr. Tavakoli serves as Chair of the Department of
Family Medicine at University of Maryland Capital Region Health, where he
plays a central role in shaping clinical education, residency training, and faculty
development.

Dr. Tavakoli has held key leadership roles, including serving as Clinical Director
of the Family Medicine Residency Program from 1992 to 2000 and helping to re-
