She currently serves as Director of Therapeutics and Core Faculty in the Family Medicine Residency Program at

University of Maryland Capital Region Health. In this role, Dr. Pruitt leads the integration of behavioral health into

whole-person treatment within a community teaching hospital setting. Her work reflects a deep commitment to

patient-centered care, clinical excellence, and the preparation of future physicians to address behavioral and

psychosocial dimensions of health alongside medical treatment.

                                                                            Jannel Lawrence, MD

                                                                           Physician Leader. Mentor. Passionate Advocate.

An active scholar, Dr. Lawrence exemplifies physician leadership rooted in care, compassion, and service, modeling the

values essential to sustainable, human-centered medical practice.

Together, Drs. Pruitt and Lawrence bring complementary perspectives from behavioral health and frontline residency
leadership to explore practical, everyday strategies for promoting wellness, resilience, and balance throughout medical
training and into early career practice.
