Keynote Address: “Our Journey to Better Healthcare”
O'Neil Pyke, MD, MBA, SFHM
Chief Medical Officer, Jackson Health System
Human-Centered Care. Systems Leadership. Lasting Impact.
Dr. O’Neil J. Pyke is a board-certified physician and seasoned healthcare executive with nearly
three decades of clinical, administrative, and leadership experience. He currently serves as
Chief Medical Officer at Jackson Health System in Miami-Dade County, Florida, where he provides
strategic oversight of clinical operations, quality improvement initiatives, and patient-centered
healthcare delivery across one of the nation’s leading public health systems.
Prior to joining Jackson Health System, Dr. Pyke served for ten years as Chief Medical Officer for a
national healthcare staffing and consulting organization, where he led initiatives focused on
workforce strategy, operational excellence, and healthcare innovation.
Dr. Pyke earned his bachelor’s degree from Queens College, City University of New York (CUNY)
and his Doctor of Medicine from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. After years of
clinical practice and executive leadership across multiple healthcare organizations, he later earned
an MBA in Strategic Management and Data Analytics from Villanova University.
Deeply committed to both clinical medicine and medical education, Dr. Pyke continues to
maintain an active clinical practice while mentoring and teaching future physicians at two major
medical schools in Florida. His professional interests include healthcare leadership, clinical
quality improvement, cultural humility in medicine, and advancing equitable, patient-centered
care.
Outside of medicine and leadership, Dr. Pyke enjoys golf, appreciating both the discipline and
reflection the game provides.
