Jessica Shepherd, MD,
MBA, FACOG
Class of 2005
President of Alumni Council

Dr. Jessica Shepherd is a board-certified OB/GYN,
women’s health expert, and minimally invasive surgeon.
She is the chief medical officer of Verywell Health and
founder and CEO of Sanctum Med + Wellness, a wellness
concierge practice affiliated with Baylor University Medical
Center in Dallas, Texas.

Shepherd’s work is driven by her passion for health, from
helping launch editorial series on health disparities to
speaking at WELL Summit, Publicis Health Media Health Fronts, and BlogHer to participating
in the 2020 Women’s March in New York City. Throughout her pursuit of medicine and health,
Dr. Shepherd’s attitude and consistent mission of excellence are based on it being a journey,
not simply a destination. Her ability to work with incredible talents, including Halle Berry, Sheryl
Crow, Amanda Kloots, Erin Andrews, and Brooke Burke, has allowed her to create avenues for
everyone from all walks of life so that they know how they can achieve the most in their lives
through courage and resilience.

Dr. Shepherd has received numerous awards as a physician, leader, and healthcare marketing
front and published in many thought-leadership articles for media, including Forbes, Adweek,
Vogue, Self, and MM+M. Her ability to teach through media has allowed her to be a regular
guest on The Today Show, Good Morning America, CNN, CBSN, and MSNBC. She currently
sits on the advisory boards for Flow by SheMedia, Whoop, Women’s Health Magazine, Abbvie,
Myovant, and Healthy Women.org.
In addition to her extensive speaking and health experience, Dr. Shepherd is very active with her
local community as a board member of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, AAGL Diversity and
Inclusion Committee, WiNGS, and Texas Women Foundation. She resides in Dallas, TX, with
her husband, Marvin, and her two sons.
