The AUC Academic Advising Program and Learning Communities are part of a relationship-centered
initiative to facilitate student success, insight, and professional development. The process will involve
reflection, discussion, and required activities. These interactions should improve academic performance while
supporting clinical skills, professionalism, professional identity development, and personal growth. The
Learning Community structure promotes a vertical connection with more senior students and junior students to
build a sense of belonging and create opportunities for guidance. Academic Advising is comprised of
faculty, student care advisors, and orientation guides.
