RossMed Day Planning Committee
We extend our sincerest appreciation and profound gratitude to the RossMed Day – Trinty Health
Planning Committee for their exceptional dedication and remarkable efforts. This has been a truly
collaborative endeavor, uniting various institutions and individuals with a shared vision of promoting
excellence in medical education and fostering support for the future generation of physicians.
RossMed Day
At Ross University School of Medicine, we exist because there are inequities in access to medical
education and quality health care. We believe that becoming a physician includes going beyond the
classroom and clinical settings, reaching deeply and broadly into the entire community where physicians
serve. RUSM has developed community connections and support surrounding our medical science
campus in Barbados. We are ready to expand that service-focused and relationship-driven model to our
regional clinical sites where many of our students complete their clinical studies.
To that end, RUSM is increasing our investment in the health systems and communities where our
students learn. In close collaboration with key clinical sites, we are showing up as partners in
scholarship, community engagement, and wellness.
We believe that students who come from a community and return to that community for a positive
clinical training experience are more likely to choose a residency in that community and remain there as
a practicing physician. Our ultimate goal is to increase access to medical education for students who in
turn become physicians and increase access to quality health care in their communities.
