Dr. Shukla was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago. Dr. Shukla
attended AUC for medical school and graduated in 2014. He went on to
complete a residency in physical medicine & rehabilitation at the Penn
State Milton S Hershey Medical Center followed by a fellowship in
intervention pain management, also at Penn State. During his time in
training, Dr. Shukla presented at multiple national conferences and was
published as a first author in the peer reviewed journal, Pain Medicine. He
also served as chief fellow of his pain management fellowship program.
Following training, Dr. Shukla returned to his hometown of Chicago, IL where he joined Midwest
Anesthesia & Pain Specialists as an attending provider. In his current role he has the opportunity
to treat patient’s with pain of all different sources using the most up to date treatments and
interventions learned in training. Dr. Shukla credits AUC for providing him with the opportunity and
tools to pursue his passion and serve his home community. As a successful AUC alumnus, Dr.
Shukla is very committed to staying involved with AUC and mentoring future generations of AUC
graduates. He served as a clinical education fellow for one year after graduating and is currently
involved with the AUC Engage program as a mentor for those interested in PM&R or pain
management.
