                                    Eshan Nanda, MD

                                    Class of 2024

Hello Class of 2024! My name is Eshan Nanda.
Since joining RUSM in 2019, I’ve had the honor and
privilege to be a part of many incredible opportunities
at Ross. During my basic sciences years, I was a
co-founder of the Mind-Body Medicine program. We
have been able to help students, faculty, and staff
by hosting programs with administration including
National Physician Suicide Awareness Day events,
discussed initiatives with staff during monthly admin
meetings, hosted new student orientations, and
created Walk-in Wednesdays. I was VP of Phi Delta
Epsilon. During PhiDE, I created an online platform called Delta Dares to raise thousands
of dollars for children at the East Tennessee Children’s Hospital with limited resources
during covid. We were one of the few Phi Delta Epsilon chapters in the country to have
          raised money during the pandemic.

I became one of the inaugural student facilitators for the Anti-Racism Reading Program
at Ross. Diversity, race, and dismantling the toxic sides of medicine has always been a
passion of mine and will continue as I progress through my training. During my Clinical
Sciences years, I have had the honor of being my site’s senator and then moving on to the
          Regional Senator role on CSGA.

Outside of school, my interests in social media and mental health awareness grew. I
enjoy making videos allowing myself to be vulnerable In hopes that it would spread and
make people feel less alone. I called it “contagious vulnerability.” To this day, I use my
social media platform to encourage students, but also give a realistic view of medicine
and medical education. But the thing I am most proud of is being able to call you all
my colleagues. Thank you so much for allowing me to become class commencement
speaker. Congrats on graduating and see you on May 17th.
