Shahid Jamil, MD, is a distinguished psychiatrist whose
Medical Student and
Career Engagement career is marked by significant contributions to psychiatric
care and medical education. He completed his psychiatry
residency at Michigan State University and a Rotating Internship at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac,
Michigan, before obtaining board certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
An engaged member of professional medical organizations, Dr. Jamil contributes actively to the
American Medical Association, Michigan State Medical Society, Oakland County Medical Society,
American Psychiatric Association, and Michigan Psychiatric Society.
He has held several leadership roles within the field of psychiatry and has been repeatedly honored for
his teaching excellence. From 1991 to 1997, he received the Outstanding Active Teacher award annually
from the American Academy of Family Physicians, highlighting his commitment to medical education
and his influence on future healthcare professionals.
