Dr. Jalpa Patel (’15), is a board-certified Internist and Gastroenterologist
with a special interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease and preventative
medicine; she is currently an Attending Gastroenterologist at Banner
Health in Glendale, AZ. Dr. Patel completed her Internal Medicine Resi-
dency and her Gastroenterology Fellowship at Michigan State University
College of Human Medicine Ascension Providence-Providence Park Hos-
pital, Southfield, MI.
It is also worth noting that as a student at AUC, Dr. Patel was awarded the
Student of the Semester Award in May of 2013, and while in residency at Ascension Providence,
she was selected as Resident of the Year in 2017. Her most recent honor was to be selected as
Chief Gastroenterology Fellow for her program.
Dr. Patel is originally from Southern California, and she speaks three languages, English, Gujarati,
and Hindi. Dr. Patel enjoys cooking and trying new recipes and traveling
"American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine opened doors for me to achieve my
professional goals, additionally it provided me with memories and experiences that mold me into
the physician I am today."
