Solution:

To sketch the graph of linear equation, find the x-intercept and the y-intercept.
x-intercept
To calculate the x-intercept, put y = 0, and solve for x. 0 = 5x + 10
5x = –10
x = –2
Therefore, the line passes through (–2, 0)
y-intercept
To calculate the y-intercept, put x = 0, and solve for y. y = 5x + 10
y = 10
Therefore, the line passes through (0, 10) Now, plot these points on the graph.
