Fractions, Decimals, H.C.F and L.C.M Fractions
Just like whole numbers, fractions also exist on the number line. A fraction is a part of a whole number. It’s written as π‘Ž
𝑏
where β€˜a’ is the numerator representing the number of parts
β€˜b’ is the denominator representing the number of equal parts in which the whole is divided.
REMEMBER:
A fraction can be both positive and negative.
Types of fractions
Proper fraction: The numerator is smaller than the denominator.
     HCF and LCM
For example,1, 3, etc. 25
Improper fraction: The numerator is larger than the denominator. For example,15, 13, etc.
24
Mixed fractions: The number is comprised of both a whole number and a fraction. For example, 2 4 = 14

HCF – Highest common factor or GCM (Greatest Common Multiple)
The HCF of two or more numbers is the greatest number that can divide each of them completely.
Example: Solution:
Answer:
Find the HCF of 60, 90, and 162.
60 = 2 Γ— 3 Γ— 5
90 = 2 Γ— 3 Γ— 3 Γ— 5
162 = 2 Γ— 3 Γ— 3 Γ— 3 Γ— 3
Here, (2 Γ— 3) is the largest number dividing the three numbers.
So, HCF of 60, 90, and 162 is 6.
