JOIN US FOR EDUCATIONAL CLASSESSES
July 12-15, 2015
AASBO offers four professional development courses this summer as part of the association’s
Educational Program curriculum. These four-day courses are open to anyone who has an interest in
school business management. For the summer of 2015, AASBO is pleased to offer several options.
The dates for all four classes are July 12-15, 2015. They will be held at the Casino del Sol located
at 5655 W. Valencia Rd., Tucson, AZ 85757. Classes begin at 8:30 AM and end at 4:30 PM each day.
Continental breakfast will be served.
A DV ANCED B UDGET & F
ADVANCED BUDGET & FINANCEINANCE
This class is intended for Business Administrative and Finance Personnel who have overall fi nancial
responsibility for their organization’s budget and long term fi nancial health. The class will focus
on concepts and issues that require previous experience in this area.
Prerequisite:
Prerequisite: Basic AASBO Budget & Finance class and/or two years school budget and fi nance
experience.
A DV ANCED P
ADVANCED PURCHASINGURCHASING
This course provides the student with an advanced knowledge of the principles, processes, and
requirements of school district procurement.
Prerequisite:
Prerequisite: Basic AASBO Purchasing class and/or two years school purchasing experience.
M AINTENANCE & O PERA TIONS
MAINTENANCE & OPERATIONS
Participants will be provided with an overview of the responsibilities associated with maintenance
and operations departments and activities.
T RANSPOR T A
TRANSPORTATIONTION
This is a practical course designed to develop and refi ne personnel and logistical management
skills related to pupil transportation. Participants will use practical exercises based on actual situ-
ations to craft a portfolio of notes and templates for their professional use. Skills and resources
required to effectively manage education transportation programs will be discussed.

Participants will learn what every school employee should know about Financial Coding and Re-
porting.

Participants will receive practical, easy to understand, comprehensive guides and materials at the
workshop. It will emphasize the critical importance of each concept and process in the overall
management of internal controls, and the need to know and adhere to state laws and regulations.
