Preparing for Security reats

It is an unfortunate fact of life that schools
must prepare for security threats. The Arizona
School Risk Retention Trust (the Trust) — via its
emergency response consultant, Kaylee Sorensen
— is providing the following recommendations for
securing campuses through the site vulnerability
assessment (SVA) process.
Involving Outside Assessors
When conducting an SVA, districts should
invite trained personnel from their community
to serve as assessors. These assessors may include
staff from Homeland Security, law enforcement,
