      WELCOME!
WELCOME!
Welcome to the Growing Young Learning Community Session 2!
We’re so proud of the work your congregation has completed thus far! And what a year it has been, right? We continue to be committed to giving you the best learning experience we can. You’ll note that a few special treats were shipped to your team as a way to help you further engage your online learning.
Before we dive into session two, just a reminder: Growing Young is an adaptive change process. This means that throughout our learning and playing together, we may not have right or wrong answers. Remember the journey of Moses. We too are wandering through the desert in search of all that God has promised. It is essential that you as a team are committed to trying new things even in the midst of this pandemic. Don’t underestimate monthly meetings. Consider putting these on the calendar starting now until the rest of the year so that you can finish strong! Lastly, remember these words from Scott Cormode, professor of leadership at Fuller Theological Seminary: “In this pandemic, our instincts are to find a level of comfort and maintain the status quo. But this is the perfect time to try new things and to push outside of our comfort zones.”
When you leave from this second session, you will continue to meet with your coach. They will help you press into the creative things you have planned and envisioned for your congregations. They are also available to help you make pivots, change gears, and listen continuously through feedback loops.
For a bigger picture of what the year will look like, we’ve developed a year-long timeline on the third page. It may be helpful for you
to rip out this page and hang it on the wall, just to continue staying focused on your goals and this ministry work.
We are so excited to further this work with you! Yours, The Growing Young Learning Community Team
