Crying Earth
The Earth is crying
and I am trying to soothe her.
Her tears creating waves and ripples
that break and cripple entire masses.
Demanding peace and quiet.
Demanding she is heard.
Demanding we restore her.
We let her down.
We burned each limb, froze each organ,
misplaced her crown.
Humans consume poison every chance we get.
We are Eve in the Garden of Eden
and you must be tired of our greed.
In time, we will go, and you will stay
To restore the beauty and balance
that once roamed your radiant skin.
My dearest Earth, I thank you for your love and your life. My darling planet, I am sorry for what we’ve done.
