Cohen explained. “But, I need you home shortly after sunset! We have early mornings, after all.”
Pinching two tiny ears into shape, Ziva was only half-listening. They were focused on creating an adorable face, not on their mother’s vague rules. It was a little- known fact that while Madam Cohen created the amazing recipe for the bread, it was Ziva who actually made the loaves into cats. The desserts were much easier to mold. Frosted cookies? Just cut the dough into the right shape. But bread? Bread had to be balanced, stable, and strong. The head couldn’t fall off right after cooking, but it couldn’t be too small either. Same with cakes. Still fixated on the cat loaf, Ziva’s concentration was interrupted by their mother clearing her throat.
“Yeah, I heard you.”
“You could at least look at me while talking.”
“I-”
The loud ringing of bells interrupted Ziva’s words,
probably for the better. The door must’ve been opened. That’s the only reason the bells would ring. Not many people make the door chime so obnoxiously, though. Proudly having just finished the last cat loaf, Ziva started cleaning the workspace when someone suddenly jumped on them.
“Hello~!”
