Financial Update
Revenues for the first quarter of 2021 came in Alex Bauer, CFO lower than we anticipated because many patients
decided to stay home when the second surge of COVID-19 cases struck
in January and February. While the numbers below may look concerning at first, it is important to note that we received $14 million in provider relief funding through the CARES Act. So instead of a $3 million deficit, we actually closed the quarter with $11 million favorable to budget. Since then, we have seen revenue continue to increase as patient volumes have returned to normal. We expect our second quarter revenue to be steadier since COVID-19 cases in our community continue to decline.
Project Management Office Update
The Sansum Clinic Project Management Office is responsible for identifying and supporting the execution of the Organization’s key strategic initiatives that help drive performance toward our annual performance targets. We know that there’s a lot of work underway within specific departments, and here’s a quick run-through of a few organization-wide initiatives underway now!
PATIENT EXPERIENCE
Coming July 1! New Press Ganey Reporting Tools
Our Press Ganey Reporting Toolset is getting an upgrade,
and we’re utilizing this as an opportunity to train
our management team in the new look-and-feel
while further operationalizing regular review of performance data in a way that engages all of us in ongoing improvement. Management Team – stay tuned for training later this month!

Work is underway to allow patients to schedule
certain visits with their primary care provider via MyChart. Streamlined wait-list functionality will also be made available, allowing patients to schedule earlier visits when they become available. More info to come!
Mid-County Expansion
Work is underway to finalize location, space needs, and a business plan to expand our offerings to patients who live in the Solvang region.
