Ophthalmologists Dr. Mark Silverberg and Dr. Mica Bergman recently published the article Single horizontal rectus muscle vertical augmented transposition with posterior fixation suture in management of monocular elevation deficiency, in the medical journal Strabismus, Volume 29 Issue 1.
Otolaryngologist Dr. Andrew Mester, who works in the clinic’s ENT (Ear, Nose Throat) Department, shared his “Coming to America” story with Hungarian Hub, a website that gathers information on Hungarians in this country. The son of a Hungarian surgeon who pioneered laser medicine, Dr. Mester can speak 4 languages, English, Hungarian, Russian and German. He received his medical education at Semmelweis Medical University in Budapest. He moved with his young family to the United States in 1986 for a rhinology research fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center. He applied for political asylum, and first became a California resident when he received
an NIH research award at UCLA. After completing his residency at Boston University, he joined Sansum Clinic in 1997. He lives with his wife, Sun Ae,
