and our regional team. 1
I am also pleased to report that we have delivered the budget target set
for the region in 2018.
20 We have to congratulate our operational teams, who have successfully
delivered and completed a new Proton Therapy Cancer Treatment Centre
at Bedlington and a 300 bed student accommodation block in the centre of
Newcastle. They also delivered a significant number of residential projects
throughout the region. Finally, we are very close to completion and handover
of our Catterick Scheme – Marne and Bourlon Barracks, the largest scheme
delivered by our region. At a recent seminar with Galliford Try – Operations
Director, Paul Davenport, stated to Galliford Try key supply chain – “Catterick 2
was one of the best schemes being delivered by Galliford Try” and praised
Lorne Stewart for their collaboration and operational delivery, for “being of
the highest standards” – worthy praise from our key client. Very well done to
all Lorne Stewart teams, you’re doing a great job!
As for 2019, we shall continue to implement our ‘Work Winning’ strategy.
It has had a positive impact on our secured workload for 2019 which is
presently sitting at circa 82%. But we have no room for complacency as we
face a flat market and increasing competition within our region. Continuous
improvement remains a key objective across all areas of our business, and
I am sure you will do your bit individually and collectively to achieve this.
Along with our regional SHEQ objectives, these targets will underpin the
continued success in our region. So I am sure you will agree with me when
I say - “2019 and beyond, BRING IT ON”.
On that note, I’d like to say a big thanks from the Business and I look 3 5
forward to working with you all throughout this year.”
