What would happen if humans vanished from the Earth? How would nature react - and how swiftly? An abandoned village reveals the surprising answer - at Chernobyl. In just a few short years, the abandoned village has become a sanctuary for plants, birds and animals. Some species, thought to be on the brink of extinction, are in robust good health and are thriving in this dramatic, human-free environment.

Thousands of elephants once roamed China’s vast continent. Today, only 250 are left in the jungles of China’s remote Yunnan province. Despite all odds they cling on in this ancient and beautiful land, existing on the very brink of extinction. What has caused their demise? Can they be saved? This film documents the quest of Grace Gabriel, to change the way local people feel about these animals and campaign for their conservation; and wildlife cameraman Richard Kirby, as he battles to film these animals in the wild before they are gone forever.
In the remote mountains of the Eastern Himalayas, this film follows a pair of rare, elusive, and irresistibly charming red pandas. These secretive cherubs of the treetops are filmed in the wild as they feed, court, mate, build nests and raise their newborn cubs. In parts a traumatic tale but this story ultimately has a happy ending.

The largest single concentration of whooper swans in China live on a newly and unintentionally created wetland. A remarkable place in the heart of central China, Sanmenxia Wetland Park consists of a 385 square kilometer reservoir, two artificial lakes and surrounding wetlands. It is estimated that over 10,000 whooper swans inhabit the park. ‘China’s Swan Lake’ shows the lives of a whooper swans family that live on the lake along with invasive black swans and blue herons.
