EPILOGUE: MAINTAIN THE RIGHT PRIORITIES my family and I into an era in which we pray on issues that reflect more the priorities of God instead of our own priorities. The days of praying for bread and butter issues are over. Now we have ushered in days of focusing on the same set of prayers that occupied the heart of Jesus because those are the issues that God’s heart are after. We have come into the place where we truly believe God for the key revealed in Matthew 6:33, and specifically that all the things we would ordinarily have prayed for will be “added” to us as we focus on more important issues. This book calls every child of God to mind his or her priorities in prayer. From the exposition here, it is my belief that every sincere child of God would have found specific adjustments to make to their prayer life in order to bring it in alignment with the priorities of Jesus and the Father. The prayers we have examined here are not the usual prayers that christians pray, neither are they the kind of prayers that we like or are quick to pray. Yet these are the prayers that characterised the prayer life of Jesus that we as disciples hopefully desire to emulate. These prayers represent the secret behind the quality of life that Jesus lived and they offer us a great opportunity to step onto the 167.
