These are a very crucial set of prayers, tried and tested, and pointing us to the right set of priorities to mind in our prayer life. They are life transforming prayers in all respects, especially because they hit the ‘bullseye’ every time they are offered. They all have in common, a sharp focus on issues that are of greatest interest to God. Bringing them to the throne of grace pleases God and makes Him joyful. They are the prayers that God is ever ready, willing and able to answer. These prayers also offer us the advantage of keeping our focus on the right things all the time. They prevent us from going astray to follow the priorities of the flesh or carnal mind. They establish our feet firmly within the kingdom of God and make it increasingly impossible that we will be lost to the world, or indeed, any of those who belong to our families. It may appear strange to you at first when you embark upon this path in your Christian walk, that you are not praying for yourself, and if you are, not much at all.
